BOINC Distributed Computing

As a Team founder I will give some words here. I work with computers so complex science is not my thing. BOINC projects just are big passion of mine. I couldn’t thing easier way to help basically whole human race! Some things I love are NYC, Chicago and my home country Finland. Many Team names are explained because of these interests. Many times I have heard that Finland is a 52 state of the USA. Well, we have much common at least!

Currently I’m active member of all teams in this site. Computer power is rather small because finance things, but I will try always improving that in small steps. Three computers are currently crunching in from my home and looking to buy more power. Some may ask why? Isn’t this give you just electricity bills when multiple computers are running 24/7/365. My answer is simple! Fact is that electricity is expensive in Finland but I’m lucky to own and live in my own house.

Today’s computers generate so much heat that my goal is to warm whole house with equipment that are able also to crunch BOINC projects tasks. Why pay for heating bills, if I can do some good for us all by using computers for that instead! That’s the answer. And of course huge passion for this thing drives me further.

Now, we get into this particular site; boinc.freewarekicks.com. It’s freely hosted thanks to the main site freeware downloads. Anyway, simply goal of this page is to find more and more willing people who like to put their computers in good use while not using them – computing for science with a BOINC manager. Best of BOINC is that everyone can participate, with one computer or companies can participate using even thousands of computers. Of course, the rankings of user and teams will rely number of members and how much processing power these BOINC Team members have.

Anyhow, all Teams listed in these pages are literally meant to ANYBODY IN THE WORLD! Despites names of some teams, every single human being with a computer is welcome from around the world.
